It is the policy of Thompson Construction Company, Inc. to maintain a safe and healty working environment for our employees, subcontractors, customer personnel and the general public. We believe that the safety of employees is of utmost importance, along with quality, production, and cost-control. Thompson Construction Company, Inc. strives for full compliance with applicable federal and local safety and health regulations.

The management of Thompson Construction Company, Inc. recognizes its paramount obligation to provide for the protection of each person on the jobsite, as well as the preservation of property and equipment. It is our policy to incorporate a safety program that will minimize the risks of injuries and loss, or damage to, property and equipment during the course of construction. All company supervisors and managers are responsible for the enforcement of safety policies and practices.

All persons on a Thompson Construction jobsite are expected to follow all established safe practices and safety rules and conduct themselves in a manner, which assures their safety and that of the other people at the jobsite. Each person on the jobsite is expected to assist in preventing accidents by immediately reporting or correcting unsafe practices, procedures or conditions observed. Safety is everybody’s business, all the time.

The commitment to and participation in the safety program on each project must be firm, aggressive and shall be required of all workers on each project.

Any recommendations to improve this safety program are encouraged.

Management Policy Statement

Management of Thompson Construction Company, Inc. considers its first responsibility to be the safety and health of all its employees. In accepting this responsibility, a safety program has been established to provide a safe and healthful workplace. Management will provide the necessary resources to carry out this program and will comply withal applicable federal, state and local requirements.

Managers and supervisors will accordingly implement and enforce safety policies and safe procedures, encourage employees to remain accident-free, be on the constant alert for unsafe practices and conditions, and take action to eliminate such practices and conditions if they occur.

In turn, every employee must accept responsibility to prevent injuries to themselves and others by following the safety policies and procedures outlined in this program. In doing so, employees, their families and management will benefit.

Health and Safety Objective

The health and safety objective of Thompson Construction Co., Inc. is to provide its managers, supervisors, employees, clients, subcontractors and suppliers with a firm understanding of the company’s position regarding safety and loss prevention which includes responsibilities in:

  1. Preventing accidents and construction failures.
  2. Protecting employees, subcontractors, the public and the environment.
  3. Providing education and instruction.
  4. Providing employee training.
  5. Implementing a pro-active approach to accident prevention.

The company’s safety and health objective is a practical, worthwhile effort that incorporates all the above responsibilities and is executed through the combined efforts of management, supervisors, employees, and subcontractors. Thompson Construction Co., Inc. recognizes its obligation to these responsibilities and continues to strive to maintain a safe working environment on all construction projects.
